The Impact of Borders

     So about that debate...haha I personally feel like the Pro side of the argument should have won because the Con side was inconsistent and at points was not making sense. Can't really remember anything else though.
     I believe in supranationalism. I think that you cannot achieve good unless you work with other countries. You can never get anything done 100% on your own, you're gonna need someone. Whether it's an ally or an enemy, you are gonna need someone to help you fufill your so called "cause". Granted things like the UN or the EU seem like something great in a perfect world but we all know things like that don't really work to everyone's advantage. The EU for example, poor Germany is stuck bailing everyone out because they have the strongest economy. People need to get their shit together. Greece for example needs to just pull it together, which honestly will probably never happen. If Germany can go from being at the bottom of the barrel to the top, then so can other countries.
     In a way I think things like the EU and NATO make people or me especially feel safer. If my country was attacked, my allies who signed the treaty would have to help me out or they would suffer the consequences at some point. The European Union is kind of weird in a way since it's basically supranationalism but into a country. It's like the EU vs the US, not like France or UK vs the US. They formed into one solid identity kind of. Getting into a union with other places increases your power because it increases the amount of people you have, also land and resources available. That's why it was so essential that one country was either on the Warsaw Pact or the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. There needed to be borders and notice of capabilities.
     I don't know, it has it's pros and cons.
